Australian graphic designer Aveline Gunawan worked on this project for Zege, a premium Belgian beer brand.
The idea behind the style of packaging was to ‘reminisce King Leopold’s triumph‘. When I first saw this bottle, I thought it was champagne, now I can’t figure out if this means that it is a spot-on piece of ‘premium’ branding or if the design language is a bit off.
Either way I love the detail, the wax seal and the sewn label. I especially love the ‘Gouter a la Victoire’ tagline, which translates to ‘Taste Victory’. Fantastic.
