Simple and chic with vintage touches throughout, this is one cool branding.

“The camera has a rough look which is also shown in the raw cardboard packaging with 2 color silk screen print. The graphic itself has connections to the Russian constructivism but it is transferred into modern times.”

I love this branding for this Mexican store selling grains in bulk called Germina, designed by the ever wonderful Savvy Studio.

“The design was crafted as a contemporary take on typical market aesthetics and experience, mostly resulting from a direct relationship between customer and vendor, through a clean, modern graphic language. All designs seek to be extremely practical, using basic packaging made from recycled materials – all customisable – emphasising the product’s name, weight and price, thus, following the rituals from habitual market shopping experience.”

Sorry for the radio silence of late, but all my free time has been taken up recently working on a very exciting project.

Over here at AMS Design Studio we have now launched out very own watch brand; The Camden Watch Company. A watch brand not only designed in Camden, but inspired by Camden. By its rich industrial heritage and its vibrant, dynamic present.

The collection comprises of three beautiful timepieces, No. 24, No. 29 and No. 88, each named after bus routes that run through Camden Town, with the No. 24 being the oldest unchanged route in the whole of London.

From the Victorian pocket watch inspired No. 29, taken from Camden’s strong railway heritage, to the turquoise-blue seconds hand of the No. 88, based on the iconic ‘Camden Lock’ bridge, every detail has been thought through, scribbled, sketched, reworked and refined until just right.

“Tasked to design packaging for hard candies (5 flavors), I decided to take a different route and avoided the usual twist wrapper. I took inspiration from candy bars, mostly chocolate, to come up with what looks like a candy bar from afar, but is actually made up of several pieces of square candies inside.”
