I am head over heels in love with this fantastic identity by the Leeds-based Passport Design Bureau for The Wood Beneath The World, an “immersive, interactive and visually stunning environment designed to encourage exploration, imagination and creativity”. It’s jam-packed full of details and symbols pulled from folklore.

Their brief was “to develop an identity for the event whereby the aesthetic needed to communicate a formal, official tone of voice but with a hint of magic, merging the location of the project in the city’s town hall, but also the mysterious woodland that lies below it“.

Nailed it.

The key was to make it nice and casual in order to reflect the wedding itself.

“Kraft paper was chosen for its low-brow properties, along with an eclectic mix of fonts and design elements to help reflect the nature of the vintage inspired venue. Letterpress printing and custom made stamps allowed for a lovely yesteryear vibe.”

The project is designed to drum up interest from financial backers, as that is the only way that this kind of enterprise survives.

“This promotional kit is designed for an audience of a select few executives that have the power to bring large, successful and innovative corporations behind the Auduboncause. It brings nature directly to the men and women who spend their days in meetings and offices with little time to seek out nature for themselves.”

Take a look at this absolutely beautiful wedding invitation designed by American graphic designer Laura Coggins.
She had a custom map printed, made tags and labels on her vintage typewriter and gave away jars of natural honey as wedding favours.
